Blue Eye Samurai
Brief
Here’s another collaboration with my fine-feathered friends over at Plucky Netflix was looking for some design concepts for a logo and intro animation for their upcoming animated series Blue Eye Samurai.
Client : Netflix / Plucky
Creative Director : David Clayton
Creative Producer : Jeffrey Marks
SOLUTION
While the client ultimately decided to go with a simplified title card in the final execution (pun intended), the design process on this one yeilded some frames of which I’m really proud. Plus is was a nice break from hard-core 3D rendering to get back to some good old-fashioned Photoshop style frames!

Process
Let the Midjourney begin

Early in the exploration and ideation stage I used Midjourney to generate images… used mainly for inspiration and in conjunction with “normal” reference gathering.
